Interview
Building Bangladesh's Hygiene Manufacturing Future
What makes this the right moment for Bangladesh's hygiene manufacturing industry?
We're seeing a rare combination of factors — a large young population, rising incomes, and still-low product penetration. That combination doesn't come around often, and manufacturers who invest in capacity now will be well positioned for the next decade.
What are the biggest challenges local manufacturers face?
Raw material import dependence is the big one. Almost all of our Super Absorbent Polymer and fluff pulp comes from overseas, so exchange rate volatility and shipping costs directly affect our margins. Events like HygieneTech Bangladesh matter because they open direct conversations with global suppliers.
